In this new series of photographs by Studio KASBOEK, reference is made to our collective memory. The images allude to postmodernist architecture and art historical images, such as the Mona Lisa.
KASBOEK displays a seductive interplay of light and movement through the use of light-reflecting pigments and optical filters. The role of light, movement, and time in our collective memory of place and time is addressed here. Kasboek shows how technology can alter the perception and meaning of our memory, and that these are fluid and malleable factors. In this new body of work, Kasboek builds upon their research into the interplay between perception, reality, and imagination in our high-tech society.
