Amira Ziyan

Amira Ziyan (1977) lives and works in Yarka, Israel. She graduated from the Haifa Univesity's Arts program. Ziyan's artwork focuses on staged photography. In her practice she manifests the physical character's absence by carefully chosen objects or by a tranformative act . Women from the Israeli Druze society are the main object of Ziyan's art. She is especially concerned with identity and gender in contemporary Druze culture.
